For the 2012 Spaghetti Supper…Be an Angel!
The All Saints Christian Outreach Team has decided to try something new for this year’s annual Spaghetti Supper, which will be held on Sunday, January 29th from 5:00-7:00 PM. To simplify our fundraising, instead of holding a silent auction, we are going to concentrate on asking donors to become Outreach Angels and donate the money directly to the committee. As in the past, Outreach Angels will have their names put on a paper angel posted on the walls of the Activity Center during the Spaghetti Supper. (Any amount is most appreciated and people can combine their donations if they wish.) The delicious Italian meal we all love will remain the same and diners will continue to be served by and purchase dessert from members of our outstanding J2A group, which is supported by the Outreach Team and we will also have a raffle of the most popular auction items of the past.
Besides wanting to make our biggest Outreach event a bit different, the main reason for this change in our fundraising is that auction items were often purchased below (sometimes much below) their cost, which meant money that could have gone into the Outreach Team’s budget was not available to support the caring partnerships we have developed, locally and globally, in the areas of hunger, housing, education and ministry. In this time of great need, we want every dollar to go to fund those ministries, which include Dean Fricke Food Pantry, Miller Park Elementary School, Omaha Street School, Siena/Francis House, Habitat for Humanity and missions in the Sudan and Dominican Republic. These partners count on us to continue to provide vital funding to their missions and we want to continue to support them to the fullest extent possible.
You can purchase tickets to the supper ($10.00 for adults/$5.00 for children 12 & under) and sign up to be an Outreach Angel before and after services every weekend in January, starting on the 7th & 8th. This year we will not be having a silent auction. Instead, we will be raffling off some great prizes. Raffle tickets will be sold the weekend of January 28th & 29th. For more information about the raffle prizes and oral auction click here. We are looking forward to another evening filled with fun and fellowship. We thank you for your past generosity and know that you’ll answer our call to be an Outreach Angel as you have in the past…with a resounding yes!

Consider Being a Host... It's Easy, Fun...
and a Necessary Ministry
Please consider getting several friends together OR just sign up by yourself and we will place you in a group. What makes this so easy is that you do not need to provide the refreshments! You set up, make the drinks, serve and clean up. You do a little bit before, attend the service and then serve and clean up afterwards. Click here to view the C&C current serving schedule.
If you, your family or a group of friends would like to be a part of this important ministry, please contact Sooz Edwards.

The next meeting of the "Happy Bookers" book club will be on Thursday, January 12th at 4:00 p.m. This will be the third meeting of this new book club for All Saints women. Current books are” “Same Kind of Different as Me,” by Ron Hall, and “Letters from a Nut,” by Ted Nancy. Haven’t finished the books? Haven’t read the books? No problem. We are new, and we are evolving. Your ideas for club guidelines are welcomed. Please join us. We hang out for about an hour or so. Maybe you know of some good books which would make for interesting discussion. We are looking for a ‘few good selectors’ to recommend books which not only are good reads but create good discussion. Interested in this ‘select’ few, comments, suggestions? For more information, please contact Becky Connors.

ONLINE GIVING
Supporting Your Church Has Never Been Easier!
Does this sound familiar? You are getting ready for church and running a little late. In an effort to get to church on time, you dash out the door, jump in your car, and head for church not realizing, until you arrive at church, that you have left your pledge envelope sitting on the kitchen table…or how about this. You are already at church. As the offering plates are being passed around, you realize you left your pledge envelope at home and decide to write a check but instead find you have left your checkbook at home as well. If these or similar circumstances sound familiar, you are not alone. There is however a way to prevent this from ever happening again. It is called “Online Giving” and it is now available through our All Saints website. To learn more, hover your mouse over the “Giving” tab in the main navigation menu at the top of this page, and look for Online Giving, or go there now by clicking “Online Giving”.
