Daily Morning and Evening Prayer

The Forward Movement (publishers of those little Forward Day by Day booklets) offers a web page here that has the complete liturgy and readings for morning and evening prayer each day (with morning/evening automatically coming up on the page based on the time of day).

Free Instructional Videos

ChurchNext, a ministry of Forward Movement, has released a set of free courses, Prayer and Worship in Our Homes. These courses equip people for prayer and worship even if they cannot gather with others in person at church. Prayer and Worship in Our Homes includes five classes:

You can watch these on your own, and, also, All Saints will be scheduling Zoom meetings to watch them, pray, and discuss together. Stay tuned as we determine that schedule.

Spiritual Communion

The Book of Common Prayer reminds us that if one is unable to actually consume the consecrated bread and wine due to extreme sickness or disability, the desire is enough for God to grant all the benefits of communion (BCP, p. 457). When being present at a celebration of the Eucharist is absolutely impossible, this act of prayer and meditation can provide the means by which you can associate yourself with the Eucharistic Action and open yourself to God’s grace and blessing. Forward Movement is offering a free PDF of brief and beautiful Spiritual Communion prayers from its St. Augustine Prayer Book here.

Article: This Can Be Our Finest Hour

I think this article gives a very helpful perspective for us: This Can Be Our Finest Hour-But We Need All Of You. Here’s a small excerpt

“…Imagine if we could make our response to this crisis our finest hour. Imagine if a year or two from now we looked back on this and told the stories of how we came together as a team in our community, in our state, in our nation and across the world. Your contribution to the finest hour may seem small, invisible, inconsequential—but every small act of ‘not doing’ what you were going to do, and ‘doing’ an act of kindness or support will add up exponentially. These acts can and will save lives…”

For Families (and Everyone)

Check out this All Saints post for helpful resources that are good for everyone, but especially good for those with children at home during this time.

We will be offering Zoom calls for formation, meetings, and activities, stay tuned for details. Please call the church office if we can help, or email us here.

Remember, As followers of Jesus, we are called to model Christ’s loving, non-anxious presence in and for the world, even in the midst of chaos and uncertainty.

Blessings and peace,
