It is the principal goal of the Planned Giving Team to offer helpful discussions of charitable gifting ideas and strategies to assist parishioners as they explore ways to share some of their God-given treasure.  The Planned Giving Committee will periodically publish in the Witness an informative article on a charitable gifting strategy or technique.  You are strongly encouraged to contact any member of the Planned Giving Committee, the Stewardship Mission Team or Father Tom O'Dell if you would like more information about achieving your Planned Giving goals for All Saints.

Many of our parishioners have remembered All Saints in their Last Will and Testament, by substantial lifetime gifts, and with their time and talents.  In past years, residents of the Village have assisted All Saints by purchasing a residence in the Village and donating the remainder interest in their residence to the Parish.  This arrangement allows the donor to continue to enjoy the life use and occupancy of their residence while receiving an immediate income tax deduction for the remainder value of the residence.  Even if you do not own a Village residence, you can employ the same technique with your own home or farm.  Just as a Village owner may contribute the remainder interest in his or her residence in a tax advantaged way, you, too, can contribute a remainder interest in your home or farm, and enjoy immediate income tax benefits while leaving a substantial legacy for All Saints' programs.

For further details on this charitable gift idea, please feel free to contact a member of the Planned Giving Team or consult your own tax advisor.  We would be happy to work with your advisors to create a bequest or planned gift suited to your needs.

Estate Planning

In our busy lives, many of us fail to stop and consider what would happen to our assets in the event of our untimely incapacity or death.  Estate planning is the life-long process of preparing for your incapacity and/or death.  Estate planning allows you to plan for you and your loved ones, giving you peace of mind that your wishes will be carried out.  Without estate planning, several unintended consequences may occur: Read more.

IRA's & Bequests

Bequests are the easiest type of planned gift to arrange. Bequests enable your estate to realize a tax savings benefit and ensure that your assets are distributed the way you want.  Read more.

A retirement account or
IRA is included in your estate for estate tax purposes and your heirs will pay income tax on the amount that is distributed to them each year from the account. Even though generally they may be able to spread out the distributions over many years, income tax will still be paid on the distributions.

Life Insurance

There may be some Episcopalians who would be in a position to name All Saints as a secondary or final beneficiary of existing life insurance.  If your spouse is deceased and you have no children you might want to consider having All Saints be your beneficiary. Read more.

Charitable Annuities

A charitable gift annuity is both a gift and an annuity.

It is a way to make a gift to All Saints and still receive income for you and your spouse. It is a contract under which All Saints, in return for a transfer of cash or other property, agrees to pay a fixed sum of money for a period measured by one of two lives.

Legacy of Love Society

Honoring parishioners who include charitable gifts to All Saints in their estate plans, we created a Legacy of Love Society as our way of offering sincere appreciation.
